The Goodwin Parade/Walker Street Neighbourhood Centre is one of the 16 areas to be included in the Community High Street programme. This brings funding for the community to establish and start to deliver a vision for change in the area to reinvigorate the high street. What this change looks like is up to the local community, but the work can help to tackle issues such as -
shop vacancy
anti-social behaviour
traffic
graffiti
it can also deliver improvements such as -
community events
green space
seating
The Goodwin Parade/Walker Street Neighbourhood Centre covers the parade of shops, the Goodwin Club and The Church of the Holy Apostles on the east side of Walker Street as well as The Octagon and St Victors Church on the west side of Walker Street.
