It is proposed to make the Order to reduce speed limits on lengths Cottingham Road. The extents of the proposed new speed limits are shown for illustrative purposes on Drawing No. TDT/2144/03 Cottingham Road is a residential street and is a well used link between the city of Hull and the village of Cottingham.
The street incorporates footways and on street cycle lanes. The Council considers it expedient to make this Order for -
facilitating the safe passage on the road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians)
preserving or improving the amenity of the area through which the road runs
avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road and for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising
In proposing making the above Order, the Council has given thorough consideration to the factors set out in Section 122 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended). This requires the local authority to secure the expeditious, convenient and safe movement of traffic (including pedestrians).
