It is proposed to create a one-way traffic system on Grafton Street due to the width and layout of the road not being able to accommodate two-way traffic effectively. This is to be complimented by alternating priority working on Alexandra Road, De Grey Street and Lambert Street to help reduce congestion and improve traffic flow.

Along with this, it is also proposed to remove existing No Waiting At Any Time restrictions at a number of locations to increase on-street parking provisions in the area. New No Waiting At Any Time restrictions will be introduced at certain locations to prevent parking within the priority buildouts, ensuring that they operate as intended, and to keep turning heads clear to allow vehicles to maneuver safely.

In addition, a No Loading At Any Time restriction is proposed at the junction of Grafton Street and Beverley Road to maintain clear sight lines and improve road safety. New loading bays will also be provided on Alexandra Road, De Grey Street, Grafton Street, May Street and Suffolk Street to facilitate safe and convenient loading and unloading activities. Outside the designated loading hours, the bays will be available for use by general vehicles for parking.
