The West Docklands masterplan document was created by the council in response to significant changes in the West Docklands area. The recent announcement by Smith and Nephew to leave the city, the A63 improvements and increased flood defences has created an opportunity to begin redevelopment in the area and the masterplan illustrated the direction the council envisions.
We held 3 drop-in events and an online discussion forum and survey, to understand the public and local businesses views on the future vision for the area, the results of which are being analysed by the council.
A report will be published that addresses comments and concerns and key findings will inform the next iteration of the masterplan, the date the report will be published is yet to be confirmed, any updates will be posted to this page.
The key findings will be used to guide a final vision for the area to provide guidance to prospective investors that helps speed up the planning process and ensure a coordinated regeneration to the area. The document is still available to be downloaded, though we are unable to receive any comments.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to comment on the West Dockland masterplan document.
