Which of the following best describes you? (choose any one option)

Phase one research

Previous research for this project has identified the following as priorities for the local area -

  • There are significant traffic issues along the high street including congestion, speeding etc.
  • People felt that there were not enough places to safely leave and lock bikes.
  • People felt that there were not enough outdoor spaces to sit and meet friends to eat and drink.
  • People feel that the high street is not kept clean and free from litter.
  • People felt that the pavements were not in a good condition.
  • People would welcome more community pop up events.

2.

The masterplan proposes the following - do you feel these solutions will address the priorities outlined above?

Enhancing sense of arrival into the neighbourhood centre.
New/improved crossings along Marfleet Lane to improve the pedestrian experience and enhance the pedestrian link along Holderness Drain.
Introduce designated cycle lanes and where possible, new greening and sustainable drainage areas to improve air quality, environment for pedestrians and pavement user and encourage green travel option such as cycling and walking.
Introduce new street trees, greenery, street furniture (including bins), and cycle parking along Barham Road.
Transform the pub car parking (facing Barham Road) into a vibrant spill-out environment that could act as new anchor for the neighbourhood, with new greening to promote social interaction.
New wayfinding features that signpost to key destinations nearby, such as Holderness Drain, East Park, the docks and Alderman Kneeshaw Park.
New community space with measures to slow down traffic along Barham Road and promote safe travel.
